You might believe that choosing a topic is a simple process. In reality, it’s not always so. There is a never-ending variety of HR study subjects: choosing just one can be challenging.

To make it easier, follow these useful tips:

  • Decide on a subject that interests you. The more you enjoy it, the easier it will be for you to compose your essay.
  • Selecting a topic you already know about is a smart idea because it will let you save time on preliminary research.
  • The subject should captivate and enlighten the audience. If you pick something catchy, readers will pay more attention to your essay.
  • Steer clear from selecting an overly broad subject, as you might not have enough time to cover all the details before the deadline.
  • If the topic needs to be more focused, break it down into smaller subtopics and concentrate on one of them.

Here are the hottest research directions that you can use to look for topics in HR:

  • Psychological aspects of the job interview. Human psychology influences job interviews in a variety of ways. If you know these aspects, you’ll know how to present yourself as a compelling applicant for a job. Candidates can project a friendly, confident, and competent image throughout the interview process using behavioral interviewing strategies.
  • The qualities of the ideal HR manager. Strong communication abilities are necessary for HR managers to interact and transmit information to individuals and business partners. They must also be adept at negotiating and establishing good working relationships with other employees.

  • Searching for talent within and outside the company. Unlike external recruiting, acquiring internal talent usually entails moving staff members from one team to another or promoting them to newly created positions. This process has distinctive features that you can discuss.

Human resource management is vast and interrelated to many other academic disciplines like management , operations management , project management , business , international business , MBA and more. That is why it is imperative to create a human resource management dissertation topic that is articular, sound, and actually solves a practical problem that may be rampant in the field.

We can’t stress how important it is to develop a logical research topic based on your entire research. There are several significant downfalls to getting your topic wrong; your supervisor may not be interested in working on it, the topic has no academic creditability, the research may not make logical sense, there is a possibility that the study is not viable.

This impacts your time and efforts in writing your dissertation , as you may end up in the cycle of rejection at the initial stage of the dissertation. That is why we recommend reviewing existing research to develop a topic, taking advice from your supervisor, and even asking for help in this particular stage of your dissertation.

Current Issues in Business

The business world is constantly facing new challenges that shape how companies operate and compete in the marketplace. These current issues provide fertile ground for academic research and thesis development.

  • Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility In recent years, businesses have been under increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices. Issues such as climate change, resource depletion, and corporate responsibility are no longer optional concerns but critical components of long-term success. A growing number of companies are now integrating sustainability into their core business strategies. This shift opens a wide range of thesis topics, including the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in shaping business models, the impact of sustainability on profitability, and the challenges of implementing green technologies in different industries.

However, this transformation also brings challenges, such as cybersecurity risks, data privacy concerns, and the digital divide. Students can explore topics like the impact of artificial intelligence on business strategies, the role of big data in decision-making, and how businesses are adapting to disruptive technologies like blockchain and IoT (Internet of Things).

Research opportunities in this area include examining the effects of trade wars on international supply chains, the role of government policies in shaping global business strategies, and how companies are adapting to regulatory changes in different regions.

Recent Trends in Business

In addition to tackling current issues, business research can also focus on recent trends that are transforming the industry landscape. These trends are shaping the future of work, consumption, and corporate governance.

  • The Rise of Remote Work and Hybrid Models The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically reshaped the way people work, with remote work and hybrid models becoming the new norm for many businesses. Thesis topics in this area might explore how businesses can optimize remote work arrangements, the impact of hybrid work models on organizational culture, or the role of technology in facilitating remote team collaboration.
