Debossed and embossed business cards have a unique physical texture, creating a memorable and unforgettable impression. Raised print business cards feel different to the touch, making your brand stand out amongst the rest.

Silkcards offers two printing options for adding card texture. Your graphics can either be " embossed " in which your artwork is a raised surface on the card, or " debossed " where your designs are depressed and indented onto the card stock. The  embossed or debossed  areas can be applied to the printed or foil areas. Embossing and debossing features add a distinct feel to your designs and creates a tactile effect on the side of the business card.

When it comes to leaving a lasting impression, custom embossed business cards truly shine. If your files are good to go, your payment will be processed.

Our proofing staff will prepare a finalized print proof and send you a copy by email within 24 hours.

After you have approved the proof, we will start the production. You can track your order’s process in your Order History .

What is Embossing?

Embossing is a special process we use to push up onto the card. It can be an intricate design or it can be achieved with simple shapes.

Embossing is a special process we use to push down onto the card to leave the desired impression. It can be an intricate design or it can be achieved with simple shapes. 

How deep can the effect reach?

Debossing can be surface level or it can go deeper if the middle layer is cut out and then pushed down. This cut out process works best on our Silkcards 48pt cards.

How do I prepare and upload my art?

Download our template to prepare your art! Or if you have files ready to go, you may upload those as well along with the template.

What happens if I emboss or deboss on a 16pt card?

Our 16pt cards are one layer cards. This means that if embossing or debossing is done to one side, the impression will show on the other side. If this is the desired effect you wish to have, please select this option.

What is the difference between 16pt, 32pt, and 48p?

The difference is in the amount of layers that each card has. 16 point stock is 1 layer, 32 point stock is 2 layers and 48 point stock is 3 layers.

What is a custom order?

A custom order is when you have a specific size or quantity that we do not offer on our website. This means your order was priced out and custom quoted for you. 

What is Silk Finish?

Silk finish is our trademark product. It provides a texture that is smooth to the touch. Silk finish adds a matte appearance to any of our products. It allows both ink and any add ons to fully shine. 

What is Suede Finish?

Suede Finish is a lamination that is applied to give a luxurious texture to your business cards. It is softer than our Silk Finish and truly embraces the feel of luxury.
