On the plus side, Kurier is a lovely looking film. And it’s the first Polish WWII film I’ve seen whose special effects haven’t caused the audience to howl with laughter. But it’s also woefully unfocused and also maybe a little too revealing regarding the Polish mentality? Nazis were bad, the brits are worse but UGH those yanks are the WORST.

Also I’m not sure a film in 2019 needs a 15 minute sequence setting up that the Nazis were horrible people. *Checks news for the last few years* wait never mind that last bit.

I definitely watched this for Bradley James, but unfortunately he's barely in it. He also speaks with an American accent which was odd to hear given that I associate him with Merlin . Otherwise, I wish I movie was better. It's needs to have a greater focus than anything.

It has some terrible sequences in the sense of editing and special effects, and the story is a bit over the top and not really believable but at least the main character has his quirks and flaws. And the films is very watchable, with some jokes too.

This could be called a prelude to Warsaw '44, about a Polish patriot Novak Jezioranski, who participated in the Polish uprising. Many of the occupied German territories had active resistance groups and Poland was no exception. In most of these countries, the resistance groups had factions that often fought each other. Many had so called leaders that had escaped to the West and were trying to co-ordinate resistance. Very few of them were able to come back after the war and become new leaders ( De Gaulle, for example ). Almost all of East Europe fell to the Soviets, who installed their own puppets.

Mediocre, unfocused film, The Messenger or The Resistance Fighter is a movie that had so much potential, but ended up being a tiresome, lacking film that felt like there wasn't anything going for it, despite a very interesting subject. Although it's a great subject, the execution is quite poor and it makes the film forgettable. The film had a promising start, but it quickly ran out of steam and became quite dull. The film had so much potential, but the film never becomes anything really memorable and it's a shame because this is a film that had an interesting story, but it never became anything that really stood out.

film ogólnie oglądało się naprawdę przyjemnie; czułam, że reżyser chciał, by film był "ku pokrzepieniu serc", bo niektóre sceny tak bardzo wzruszały... i tak, film trochę nijaki, taki nie wiadomo, jaki tor obiera, ale był tym samym dla mnie dosyć wciągający i angażujący... trochę misz-masz, ale trochę intrygująca historia.

THE RESISTANCE FIGHTER tells the incredible true story of the Polish war hero Jan Nowak-Jeziorański, a man of extraordinary courage, who served as an emissary between the commanders of Poland's resistance movement and the Polish government in exile in London at the height of the Second World War.
