Assignment: Ada
- Edit source
Assignment: Ada , also known as Ada the Spy in some regions, is a non-canon minigame featured in Resident Evil 4 unlocked after completing the game.
- 2.1 Loadout
- 2.2 Plaga Sample locations
- 3.1 Yellow Herbs
The minigame's plot involves Ada collecting a number of plaga samples as ordered by Albert Wesker (as opposed to collecting the single control plaga sample like in the main game). Ada does so and then reports back to Wesker that the mission was completed. She also states that Krauser was killed despite the implication that he had actually survived.
Although the plot is non-canon, it is interesting to note the ending scene has one of the biggest allusions to Resident Evil 5 in that Albert Wesker talks about "Significant changes in our world".
Gameplay [ ]
Ada wears a unique costume in the minigame which is a military-style uniform as opposed to her red dress as in the main game.
The game begins at the beginning of the island at Wharf A and ends at the Communications tower . The item layout on the map has been reworked for the minigame and pesetas and treasures are not found or used at all. The player must find the five samples of the Las Plagas parasite which are marked on the player's map. The only enemies featured are Ganado militia , Gatling Men , and Jack Krauser as the "boss" in the final area the player must defeat to get the last Plaga Sample.
The minigame is relatively short and is meant to be completed in one play-through as there are no save points during it. Ada starts the game with 6 & 2/4 Bars of health and has a slightly faster movement speed than Leon. The Plaga Samples Ada must collect take up space in the inventory instead of the Keys & Treasures menu.
Loadout [ ]
Ada begins the game with a set loadout with the default size case. In the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and the 2007 PC versions, she doesn't have a knife. In all other releases, she does. There are no other weapons to find besides Hand Grenades and ammo and the Merchant does not appear at all. Ada has the following items and firearms with the following stats;
- Handgun Ammo x30
- TMP Ammo x50
- Rifle Ammo x5
- Hand Grenade
- First Aid Spray
- Scope (semi-auto rifle)
Plaga Sample locations [ ]
Each Plaga Sample takes up 1x2 spaces of inventory. Due to them being mandatory in order to complete the scenario Plaga Samples are the only items in the game that cannot be discarded after putting them in the Attache Case.
Strategy [ ]
- In the GameCube and PlayStation2 versions, Ada has no knife, so try and conserve ammo and, to open multiple crates, line them up and shoot them in one bullet using the Punisher.
- Try to not get carried away with the Punisher's high rate of fire.
- Single-fire the TMP when possible to conserve ammo.
- Using The TMP full-auto is best saved to be used against shielded militia in close range, or multiple enemies, due to its high fire rate and high bullet consumption.
- Ada's melee attacks, Fan Kick and Back Kick, are particularly useful, due to your lack of a knife, and need to conserve ammo.
- Try to avoid Gatling Men whenever possible. They're relatively easy to flank in most presented situations, and not worth wasting ammo over, unless you are in dire need of a First Aid Spray or a Hand Grenade .
- Krauser is really easy to beat if you do this correctly. When he appears, dodge his attacks and run to the door you originally came from. Then equip your sniper rifle. Reenter the room where Krauser is. He will charge at you from the far end of the walkway, using his plaga arm as a shield. Try and snipe his knees before he reaches you. if you do, when he staggers, try and shoot either his head or upper chest. Repeat that until he reaches you. Just before he reaches you, re-enter that door again, reload and re-enter Krauser's room again. He spawns at the very end of the catwalk. Repeat what's above until he's dead. Grenades are more risky, due to their range, but also work well too if you can time it right. Sustained TMP fire at his knees is also effective. On the Wii, Xbox Live and PSN versions, do this same tactic, but try knifing him when he drops to his knee. This is very useful in speed running, as it only takes a few slashes to defeat him.
- Discard the Scope for the Semi-Auto Sniper since it is basically useless, this might help when collecting Plaga Samples since you need them in your Attache Case.
- After the fight with Krauser, no more enemies appear. Anything other than the first four Plaga samples may be discarded to make space in the inventory for the final sample.
Yellow Herbs [ ]
Due to Ada's low health, Yellow Herbs are vital in order to stay alive and take more hits. There are seven in the minigame. Collecting them all raises Ada's max health from 6 & 1/2Bars to 8 1/4 Bars.
Results [ ]
There is no formal results screen displayed at the end of Assignment: Ada . However, a unique credits sequence plays consisting of cutscenes from the main game but with Leon in his Special 1 costume and Ada in her costume from The Mercenaries minigame (The R.P.D uniform and Resident Evil 2 dress respectively).
In the Gamecube version, beating the minigame will unlock the Chicago Typewriter for the main game, in all subsequent releases, however, the weapon unlocks for use in Separate Ways instead.

Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways – How To Solve All Puzzles
Resolve this residence. Here’s how to solve everything in Separate Ways.
Chapter 1 | Puzzle Solutions
Chapter 2 | puzzle solutions, chapter 3 | puzzle solutions, chapter 4 | puzzle solutions, chapter 6 | puzzle solutions.
The Separate Ways DLC doesn’t shy away from throwing our favorite secret agent Ada Wong into brain-twisting situations. Like Resident Evil 4 Remake , sometimes the story slows down and traps you in a room with a twisted puzzle. To make your life easier against the Los Illuminados Cult, we’ve listed every major puzzle and how to solve it. We won’t cover how to open ever door and pull every lever — these are for those brief moments where you’ll have to solve your way out of a situation.

How To Destroy The Catapults :
In the Castle Gate area, if you alert the Ganados, you’ll also alert catapults that will rain explosive fireballs down onto Ada. To get rid of them, go to the northwest corner of the map where there’s a small square structure with a door. Use this path to reach a wooden scaffold and a ladder leading down. Below, you’ll find the SR M1903 Rifle and a Scope.
Next to the rifle, you’ll also find a turret tower with a huge cannon. Break the yellow-marked hanging counterweight to raise the cannon up. Then you can exit and zipline straight up to mount the cannon. Fire at the catapults in the distance — they’re marked with white dot icons. Destroy all three to make progressing out of the castle much, much easier.
You can continue to use the cannon to blast all the incoming cultists and save ammo. They’re too slow to reach you! Later, after zipping to the castle gate, you’ll have to deal with more crossbow cultists and catapults. Immediately run to the ladder to your left and start using it to blast them. Don’t waste your ammo!
How To Open The Cliffs Door :
In the Cliffs area, you’ll reach a door in the cliff face. To open it, you’ll need to interact with the machine to the left of the door. There are three symbols Ada must input. The symbols are located around the cliffs map. Find the symbols below or select the symbols highlighted in the screenshots above.
- Symbol #1 : Painted yellow on the wall to the right of the locked door.
- Symbol #2 : Turn around and face the grapple point to the higher catwalk. The yellow symbol is painted on the cliffs above it.
- Symbol #3 : The last symbol is only visible from above, on the upper catwalk. Grapple to it then walk to the dead end — look directly down and line up the camera to view the yellow symbol painted onto multiple surfaces in the distance.
Searching For Clues In The Village Chief’s Manor :
At the start of Chapter 3, Ada is searching for a clue to find where Luis might be located. To find a clue, go downstairs to the first floor and look for a loose framed picture near the back hallway of the manor. Interact to remove the frame and reveal the [ Hidden Key ].
Go back upstairs to the bedroom and use the [ Hidden Key ] on the locked drawer. Read the note to discover that Luis is being held in the Factory Basement to the south.
Exiting The Fortified Tower : Leaving the Fortified Tower and making your way to the Bindery, you’ll need to solve a simple Lithograph Relief Puzzle. You’ll need to find the missing Lithographs to unlock the exit door. Place both stones, then we need to solve the puzzle.
- Lithograph Stone A : Entering the castle interior hallways where the first cultists are located, head north to the Merchant room. There’s a Lithograph across from him.
- Lithograph Stone B : Right next to the puzzle door. Find it opposite the locked door with the Lithograph slots.
Solution : To solve the puzzle, we’ll need to interact with the stones. One is at each of the four cardinal directions. Match the pictures above and input the lithographs in this configuration. The image doesn’t matter. Only the color and the shape.
- North Slot : Red Square
- West Slot : Red Hexagon
- East Slot : Blue Square
- South Slot : Blue Hexagon
Bindery Red Ink Puzzle :
In the Bindery, you’ll have to solve a small puzzle to find the Red Ink required for the medicine. To reveal the hidden location, look for five shield hanging on the wall to the left of the fireplace. Shoot the shields in this order.
Hit the shields in this order and a drawer will open with the Red Ink. Taking it will trigger the exit cutscene so don’t collect until you’ve explored the area first.
Hall of Tribulation Puzzle :
In this hall, you’ll encounter a series of gates and gongs with matching symbols. Interact with the first rope to ring the gong and activate the first gate. The puzzle begins at the second gate. The goal is to collect the Crimson Lanter and unlock the door that blocks Ada’s path forward.
- Second Gate : Use the snake symbol gong on the left, then shoot the upper snake symbol gong on the right side of the hallway.
- Third Gate : Shoot the three eagle gongs. One is to the left of the gate; another is to the right. The last gong is behind the gate on the left side.
The Crimson Lantern is at the end of the path. Collect it when you’re ready. Collecting it will summon a giant drill that chases you down the hall. To escape, you’ll need to repeat the previous puzzle. Let’s go.
- Fourth Gate : Same as the third gate, except we’re on the opposite side. Shoot the eagle gong to your right, then the two on opposite walls behind the gate.
- Fifth Gate : Three fish. Similar to the previous gate. Two are on opposite walls on your side of the gate, with one final fish gong behind the gate on the left side.
- Last Gate : Two snakes. Easy. They’re on the left and right side of the hallway.
Open the last gate and grapple through the hole to escape this death trap.
Collection Room Lock :
To open the locked case in the Collection Room, you’ll need to input a code based on different types of bug specimens. By reading the note to the left of the lock, Ada will use her Augmented Reality device to scan for footsteps. We need to follow the footsteps from the entrance and see what three specimens the Collection Keeper checks. These three specimens are the key to the lock.
- Solution : Beetle | Cow Skull | Lizard
The Comms Facility Locks :
In the Comms Facility, you’ll reach a locked door with no clues. Staring at the keypad, Ada will use your augmented reality device to scan for blood on the buttons. Press the buttons in the order below. There are multiple keypads you’ll encounter as you progress.
- Keypad #1 : 1-4-8-E
- Keypad #2 : 2-3-7-E
- Keypad #3 : 4-3-0-E

Separate Ways provides a look into Ada's life that was not shown in the main story. It gives you a more in depth look into why Ada was there and what she was doing. Separate Ways can be unlocked by beating the main story(any difficultly). After completion of Separate Ways you will unlock the Chicago typewriter which can be used in the main story after being purchased for 1,000,000 Pesetas.
Walkthrough [ edit | edit source ]
Enemies [ edit | edit source ].
There are a limited amount of enemies in Separate Ways. You do not have to kill any of the bigger or stronger enemies that Leon has to kill in the main game. There are only two main bosses that Ada has to go up against. I will list their names along with what they are able to wield as weapons.
- Axe-can be thrown.
- Torch-they can breathe fire when wielding this.
- Butcher's Knife-used by the female ganado.
- TNT/Dynamite/Bomb-can be thrown at you. If you shoot it, it blows up killing the enemies around it.
- Scythe-can be thrown. Be careful; one hit is all it takes.
- Bow-can shoot you from a distance.
- Mace-sometimes is used with a shield.
- TNT/Dynamite/Bomb: this can be thrown at you if you shoot it it blows up killing the enemies around it.
- Stun Rod-shocks you when they hit.
- Chainsaw: this is the only thing she wields and is a very strong weapon.
- Chainsaw: this is the only thing he wields and is a very strong weapon.
- Three long blades attached to each hand.
- A massive machine gun-shoots a lot of bullets very fast.
Bosses [ edit | edit source ]
There are only two main bosses you have to fight as Ada.
- His arm is his weapon. He uses it to try to cut you. When he's not attacking, he uses it to block his body, but not his whole body.
- His body is his weapon. The las plagas have mutated him in to a monster.
Weapons [ edit | edit source ]
Here i will list Ada's weapons along with there upgrade level and a brief description. Ada's weapons can not be upgraded through out the game(A * means you start with the weapon)

RE4 Separate Ways DLC: How to solve the Ada castle lithograph puzzle
Although Ada has her own unique flavor of badassery to show off in the Resident Evil 4 remake Separate Ways DLC; she’s also constantly stopped in her tracks with puzzles to solve. Here’s how to easily clear the lithograph puzzle in the castle!
Step 1: Grab both of the missing lithographs nearby
After splitting up with Luis in Chapter 4, Ada will be tasked with finding the ingredients to stave off the infection plaguing the game’s cast: and to do that, you’ll need to get through a mandatory lithograph puzzle.
To even kick off the actual act of solving the puzzle, you’ll need to grab two missing litographs nearby. One of them is on a bench right next to the symbols on the wall. The other is around the corner (head right after exiting the lithograph puzzle room), next to the merchant. The exact location of both lithographs can be found in the gallery above.
Step 2: Place the lithographs into the empty slots, and solve the puzzle
You might have already mastered these types of puzzles in the core game , but just in case, here’s a refresher. Interact with the lithograph puzzle and place both missing tiles into the wall. Now, you’ll need to actually solve the puzzle.
Notice the left and top symbols are easily visible on the stone next to the tile indentations? Those denote the correct symbols you’ll need to place in said indent to make the door open. Notice how two of them are rubbed off, but are vaguely blue-colored .
Flip the tiles with L1/R1 (LB/RB) to swap sides and match up the symbols that are completely visible, then place the other tiles into the right and bottom indentations. From here, all you need to do is a few quick swaps for everything to be in order. If you highlight a tile, you can swap it with another one, and continue to flip them at will when they are selected.
The precise solution can be found in the gallery above!

The Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways DLC features a few puzzles Ada Wong must solve to complete her mission, including a variation of the symbol combination lock puzzles Leon solves in the main story.
Separate ways is a canonical adventure as ada that is more involved and has several chapters, more like the main game . She's sexy in assignment ada and in separate ways, she's more sexier. Separate ways is a canon exposition of Ada's activities simultaneous to Leon's in the main game. Pretty cool in terms of story development.
Separate ways for fun, assignment ada for unlocks. Ada is a cool character and it's awesome to see how she was integral to the main events of RE4. Even the first part where she has to ring the bell. It's feels very "back to the future". It's been a long long time since I played RE4, let alone these side modes.
